What To Expect
Starting therapy often comes with questions. Explore the information below to learn more about the process, services, and what to expect.
- 01Adults age 18 and older, couples, executives, C-suite leaders, directors, senior leaders, and professionals navigating trauma, addiction, betrayal, relationship distress, burnout, or major transitions
- 02Absolutely! I believe therapy is best experienced in a safe, confidential space away from outside distractions. My office is located in the Tanglewood/Galleria area of Houston, TX at 5444 Westheimer Road. I can also always meet virtually for clients located across Texas.
- 03For regularly scheduled sessions I do offer telehealth sessions. For intensives, the consultation can be via telehealth; the actual intensive sessions are done in person.
- 04An EMDR Therapy Intensive is a highly focused, accelerated therapeutic experiencedesigned to help individuals make significant progress in healing from trauma, anxiety, grief, addiction, and other distressing life experiences in a condensed period of time.Unlike traditional weekly therapy sessions, an intensive provides dedicated time andspace to address concerns without the interruptions and limitations of a 50-minuteappointment.
- 05Begin by requesting a consultation. You can briefly describe what brings you to therapy, the typeof support you are seeking, and your preferred meeting format.
- 06Individual therapy sessions are $200 per sessionCouples therapy sessions are $250 per sessionCouples Therapy Intensive are $2,000 for 8 hour: options: one 8-hour day or two 4-hour daysTrauma Intensives are $4,500 for 4-day intensives
- 07Session frequency is flexible and collaborative. We can meet weekly, biweekly, or at a cadencethat makes sense for your needs, goals, and schedule. We’ll revisit this together over time andadjust as needed.
- 08At The Executive Counsel, care is thoughtfully tailored to each client’s needs, goals, and circumstances. To preserve greater flexibility, privacy, and clinical independence in the therapeutic process, The Executive Counsel operates as a private-pay practice and does not participate directly with insurance plans. As an out-of-network provider, I am happy to provide a superbill upon request. You may submit the superbill to your insurance company for possible reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits. Because coverage, deductibles, and reimbursement rates vary by plan, clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly to verify eligibility and benefit details.Payment is accepted through Zelle, all major credit cards, as well as CareCredit.I believe meaningful mental health care should be accessible whenever possible. A limited number of equity-based sliding-scale appointments are available for clients experiencing financial hardship, based on demonstrated need and current availability. Please reach out for additional information about these options.
- 09All clients are required to have an active credit, debit, or HSA card on file. I also utilize CareCredit; we can complete the necessary paperwork in-office or over the phone. If you wish to utilize Zelle, payment must be completed prior to the beginning of the session.Payment is expected at the time of service. If payment is not received at time of service, the therapist reserves the right to terminate therapy.
- 10Life is unpredictable, and unexpected circumstances can arise. To ensure that every client has access to timely care while allowing me to maintain the highest standard of service, I ask that you provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee. Missed appointments without prior notice ("no-shows") will also be charged the full session fee.To protect the integrity of the therapeutic process and remain on schedule for all clients, sessions must begin within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the session will be considered a missed appointment, canceled for that day, and the full session fee will apply.Thank you for respecting these policies, which help ensure that every client receives consistent, high-quality care and that appointment times remain available for those in need.
- 11Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care before services begin. As a self-pay client, you will receive a written Good Faith Estimate prior to your first session outlining the anticipated cost of services. At The Executive Counsel, PLLC, the fee is $200 per individual therapy session; $250 per couples therapy session; and $4000 for a 4 Day trauma therapy intensive. The number of sessions recommended will vary depending on your individual needs and treatment goals and will be discussed collaboratively with you.If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute that bill.
